The Eye of Horus — three versions of which are seen here — was an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, good health, and royal power.

Horus himself was a falcon-headed sky god. Strangely enough, the eyes symbol here may be a part of our modern everyday life. The Eye of Horus is believed to be the oldest known pharmacy symbol, and the origin of the prescription abbreviation Rx.
